Paying For Another`s Crime - Poem from the book “Tales Of A Troubled African Nation”

Paying For Another`s Crime

I know it

I know it deep inside

You are good men and women

But because of your friends,

They have condemned you

They have given you a fate

A destiny taking another turn

Why? Why my sons and daughters?

Why must your name be tainted?

Why must you pay for your neighbor’s crimes?

Your friend`s mischief,

Must it take away your good name?

Come, come back to me

You know me well

I am one with the people

And you are my flesh and blood

Come, I will honor you again

I will forgive you

But only if you come now
