Young Blood

Young Blood

How do I get through to you?

What else can I say to you?

What’s old and what’s new

“Young blood”

That’s all I can say

You are young

Like a leaf in the wayward wind

They toss you back and forth

They don’t care where you are coming from

And they don’t care where you are going

The past is where you are coming from

And the future is where you are going

They store diamonds for their future

But what do you store

The bullets and the knifes

One day their children will take them from you

And when you are old, they will use them on you

That’s what they did to others

That’s what they are doing to this great nation

What makes you special?

What have you done for yourself?

And what have you done for others

They are using you young bro

Young blood, it’s all been tainted

- Poem from the book “Cries From A Troubled African Nation”
